Alive and ONLINE!

Hey all! So before all of you though I got killed by a Guatemalan stray dog and stopped checking the blog, I just thought I'd let you all know that I arrived safe and sound. Took me a day to get internet figured out but now I have that up and running too! Anyway, I will be posting a blog with all the details of day 1 and 2 but fir right now, I have children to teach...minds to mold (scary thought, huh??)

Check back tonight for a full report!

Hi Debra!

I apologize we didn't get to connect before you left, but I assure you, no matter what I said, you would still be in for the surprise of your life. I remember waking up in Antigua my first full day there and already feeling like it was home. There is a warmth to Guatemala unlike anywhere I have know. What a great place to start such an exciting adventure. Chino would be happy to show you around. Please stop by his office and introduce yourself. I sent you more details in an email.

Best of Antigua:
Pizza at La Sala
Nachos at Mono Loco
Walking Tour by Elizabeth Bell
A day by the pool at Hotel Antigua (only 50Q or $6/day if you are not a guest, just ask the front desk)
Sandwhiches at El Sitio

I'll send more in the weeks to come.

Hope to see you there in May.

Cuidate mucho,
Stephanie

PS Let me know what I can bring down for you.

That is so great that you arrived! I'm sure it was a long trip but hopefully uneventful (once you woke up in time!!)

Can't wait to hear the update about how your travels went and how your first days have been.
Love,
Michelle
